Rules & Regulations

General Rules & Regulations:

  • The course opens at 6:30 am. And closes at 1:30 p.m.
  • On Friday morning runners must check-in to the validation desk at Safeway airport road (7th circle), in order to validate their numbers by Bar Coding system. If numbers are not validated, runners will be disqualified. Validation will start at 5:30 am until 6:15 am.
  • If participants choose to continue running after 1:30 p.m. they do so at their own risk.
  • No times will be recorded after 1:30 p.m.
  • Runners should not approach or cross the finish line twice.
  • Runners should fill out medical information on the back of their running number.
  • ANY RUNNER FOUND TO HAVE RUN LESS THAN THE FULL COURSE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THIS RUN.
  • Runners, who fail to run the full 48.7km, 42km or 21km, must not approach the finish line. Uncompleted distances will not qualify for ranking, medals or certificates.
  • Runner will be disqualified if they permit family members and friends to accompany them while crossing the finish line.
  • Ultra Marathon, Marathon finisher medallions and completion certificates will be awarded only to those who finish within the seven-hour time span.
  • Half-Marathon finisher medallions and completion certificates will be awarded only to those who finish within the six-hour time span.
  • No bicycles, roller skates, roller blades, baby joggers, animals or skateboards will be allowed on the race course at any time. No exceptions. Please do not wear earphones during the race, as these can be hazardous.
  • We ask everyone to be courteous to both the organizing committee, volunteers and the police. Please follow directions and stay out of restricted areas.
  • ANY RUNNER FOUND CHEATING IN THE COURSE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THIS AND ALL FUTURE RUNS.
  • No help from third parties such as pushing, pulling, carrying or giving a lift in any kind of vehicle, the runner will be disqualified from this run and all future runs.
  • Taking a ride between timing stations will disqualify runner from this run and all future runs.

·        Individual support cars are not allowed along the route of the run..

·        The organizing committee has the right to close the water stations and time keeping points after the time limit.

 

Age Group Awards:

Please be sure to pick up your award on the day of the run, or from the Dead Sea Ultra Marathon center. The winner will be denied the right for the prize unless claimed within 30 days from the date of Ultra Marathon.

 

Runner Safety:

·        The Dead Sea Ultra Marathon organizing committee reserves the right to stop a runner from running the course if, in their judgment, there can be a possibility that serious or fatal injury might result from continuing the run.

·        Medical and First Aid Teams reserve the right to stop any runner who appears significantly impaired or disabled from running.

·        Runners should adhere to the allocated “Runners Lane” all the time to avoid any accidents.

·        The organizing committee, police & volunteers are there to help you, please don’t hesitate to ask for help.

NUMBERS:

  • Numbers must be delivered to registered runners only, all runners must present personal identification before collecting his/her number, exceptions will be made only if anyone presents the original payment voucher in order to collect the number on behalf of the runner.
  • T-Shirts with the runner number positioned front top and center MUST be worn throughout the entire race.
  • The number MUST be visible at all times specially as the runner approach time keeping stations and the finish line. NO EXCEPTIONS will be allowed.
  • DO NOT TRADE OR GIVE AWAY YOUR NUMBER. Use of numbers assigned to someone else is a serious violation of race ethics. Trading of numbers or false use of assigned numbers will result in disqualification.
  • Do not cut or fold the runner number or remove the bar code. Do not deface numbers with stickers, markers, or any writing.

 

Registration Rules & Regulations:

 

·        There is no registration on the day of the run, the dead line will be on April 5th.

·        Numbers, Goodie bag & T-Shirts cannot be picked up on the day of the run.

·        Phone or fax registrations will NOT be accepted.

·        Registration fee doesn’t include lunch.

·        Each runner should sign his/her registration form for liability; Team leader should sign on behalf of his team.

·        A copy of a valid identity card should be enclosed with the registration form.

·        Make cheque payable to: The Society for Care of Neurological Patients.

·        Particpants under 16 years old should have a parent or legal guardian to sign the registration form in order to participate.

·        Non-registered runners, families & spectators are not allowed to run with the registered runner.

·        Goodie bags, T-shirts & numbers will be distributed at registration time, after fees fully paid.

·        For those who have registered early i.e. before the goody bags, T-shirts & numbers are ready, they can pick them at the following dates & time: Saturday, April 1st till Thursday April 6th from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m

Foreign Registration Fees

60 $ till March 31st, 06

70 $ April 1st, 06 – April 5th, 06

*Prices per runner.

 

Registration Changes Cancellations:

  • No registration, charges or cancellations will be accepted after March 31st, 2006.
  • Fees are not refundable or transferable after March 31st, 2006.
